United Nations Involvement
As an international advocacy forum anchored in history and geopolitics, the Global Youth Alliance seeks to engage with multilateral organizations to champion participation in policy-making processes, equal representation of diverse groups, and youth shaping tomorrow's landscape.
Our Impact
The Global Youth Alliance attended the 2026 ECOSOC Youth Forum, which convened diplomats, policymakers, government officials, member state representatives, and youth delegates at the UN Headquarters in New York. The ECOSOC Youth Forum, held annually, empowers young people to discuss innovative solutions and address global concerns with Member States, UN officials, and stakeholders to accelerate the SDGs.
United Nations Side Event
We hosted an official UN side event with UN-affiliated Resilient Cities Catalyst (RCC) about sustainable infrastructure development in rural Cambodia, with panelists from UNICEF Cambodia’s Empower Girls initiative, UNESCO, the Oliver Wyman Forum, and RCC.
Youth Powering Cambodia’s Smart Cities: Digital Access & Urban Innovation for the 2030 Agenda
"Youth Powering Cambodia's Smart Cities" was an official side event of the 2026 ECOSOC Youth Forum that examined how Cambodia’s rapid urbanization and infrastructure boom can either deepen or reduce inequalities for youth and rural communities in Cambodia. Co-organized by Global Youth Alliance representative Sophie Lee and UN-affiliated Resilient Cities Catalyst (RCC), this side event convened panelists from RCC, UNESCO, UNICEF Cambodia's Empower Girls initiative, and the Oliver Wyman Forum, to highlight resilient infrastructure development - aligning with SDGs 4, 6, 7, 9, 11 - and 17 and empower youth across the globe.

On 14 April 2026, Sophie Lee, Founder of the Global Youth Alliance, delivered an intervention at the ECOSOC Youth Forum on SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy. It was an honor to have the Global Youth Alliance represented, sharing youth-led recommendations in this platform, which congregates young people, high-level Government representatives, and other stakeholders.
